Jiangsu's Medicare reimbursement quota for ICD reached 50,000 yuan; Beijing Medicare can basically reimburse general pacemakers - these data show that China's attention to the treatment of arrhythmia and people's acceptance of treatment devices to further improve.

However, it is not optimistic that many patients still have concerns about complex device therapy. This is caused by many reasons such as the medical concept, price of treatment, doctor's experience, and post-implantation management.

These scientific treatments have significant social and medical economic meanings, such as improving the quality of life of patients, extending working hours, avoiding the high cost of rescue caused by sudden cardiac arrest, and even saving lives. In the United States, an average of 300,000 cases of sudden cardiac death occur each year, and its annual ICD implantation volume is nearly 200,000 units. China has a large population, with an average of 540,000 sudden cardiac deaths per year. However, the ICD implantation volume is significantly different from that of the United States.

Therefore, both the recognition of these therapeutic instruments and the degree of coverage of medical insurance must be continuously improved in our country.

At present, many countries are equipped with external defibrillation first aid equipment in public places such as airports, stations, and department stores, and have formulated detailed plans to ensure that patients receive real-time rescue at the time of onset. However, the success rate of sudden hospital deaths in the United States and Europe is only 1%. External defibrillators have gradually appeared in domestic airports, hotels and other public places.

However, at this stage, China has not established a complete system for sudden cardiac death. The first-aid knowledge of cardiopulmonary resuscitation has not been effectively popularized. Many devices exist in name only and the rescue success rate is lower than in foreign countries.
