Lycorine is extracted from lycoris radiate,is a tertiary alkaloid derived from snow drop and closely related species. Lycorine acts as a reversible competitive acetylcholinesterase (ACHE) inhibitor, while acts weaker on butyrylcholinesterse(BuChE).It is used in the treatment of disorders of the central nerbous system and may be used as an antidote to nonpolarizing muscle relaxants. Lycorine is a white to almost white powder,sparingly soluble in water,insoluble chloroform,ether and alcohol.

Function

1). Lycorine Hydrochloride has emetic action,similar to Ipecac Root Extract Emetine
2). Lycorine Hydrochloride has expectorant effects, can be used in cough syrup.
3). Lycorine Hydrochloride has anti-tumor function.
4). Lycorine Hydrochloride has anti-amoeba coli,anti-bacterial
