Aseptic packaging is used more and more widely, from packaging liquids to fluids, semifluids, and pastes; from general juices to milk, tea, vegetable juices, soups, alcohol, water, and liquid medicines. Here mainly introduces the application of juice aseptic packaging.

Aseptic packaging technology is a kind of packaging technology that fills and seals in a sterile environment under the condition that the packaging, packaged goods, and packaging auxiliary equipment are all sterile.

Aseptic packaging technology makes the packaged product without preservatives. It can be stored for six months or more without deterioration under normal temperature conditions without deterioration. It also has low energy consumption, less material consumption, low manufacturing cost, and high packaging efficiency. , Good economic benefits and light weight, and waste packaging can be recycled and other advantages, suitable for long-distance transportation.

Juice aseptic packaging is a packaging system in which aseptic juices, packaging containers and packaging auxiliary materials are placed in a sterile environment and filled and sealed with an aseptic filling machine. Fruit juice foods are sterilized at high temperatures and then the temperature is reduced to 20°C to 30°C.

Juice aseptic packaging process can be roughly divided into three parts: pre-work, sterilization and packaging.

1 juice aseptic packaging early work

The preliminary work of the aseptic packaging of juice includes the selection of composite materials, the design of brick carton and box blank structure drawings, and the design of decoration, and then the delivery of packaging materials to the professional factory according to the design of the decoration design, text, color printing, in accordance with the structural design Indentation cutting, and finally into the packaging plant with web material.

1) Select materials

The packing containers used for aseptic packaging of juices are cups, boxes, bags, buckets, etc. The brick type packaging containers are mainly introduced here.

Juice aseptic packaging materials mainly use composite film, composite film consists of six materials, namely polyethylene / paper / polyethylene / aluminum foil / polyethylene / polyethylene composite materials. The weight of the packaging carton made of composite film is only 8% of that of the glass bottle with the same volume, which is not only less costly, but also produces less waste and is conducive to environmental protection.

2) Design brick carton

The common brick sterile packaging carton on the market has a capacity of 250 ml. In the structural design, the solid line indicates the outline cutting line, the dotted line indicates the inner folding indentation line, and the dotted line indicates the outer folding indentation line. The reel diameter of the packaging material shipped to the packaging factory is 0.8m, and approximately 5000 pieces of 250-ton brick aseptic packaging cartons can be manufactured.

3) Decor design

When decorating and designing, we must first consider the requirements for the packaging of goods and choose the right style. Second, we must consider the correct and appropriate use of patterns, words and colors. We must follow the principles of “scientific, beautiful, applicable, economical, and promotional” and strive to design beautifully and have The sense of the times, decoration and nationality.

At the same time, in order to achieve the above design goals, we must adopt advanced technology, such as CAD (computer-aided design), CAM (computer-aided manufacturing), professional software such as packaging carton structural design professional software - Flunder-Pack.

4) Printing

Paper containers can be printed using traditional analog printing and new digital printing. Most of the current use of analog printing.

It is often because the PS plate is simple, fast, light and inexpensive, and with the application of new light sources, new photosensitive materials, and new types of equipment, the quality of plate making continues to increase. Among them, flexographic printing has also been widely used for packaging printing.

5) Composite

The compounding process is the most important in the entire process because it plays a decisive role in the packaging function of the entire container. For example, the semi-finished product after the printing of the paper container Tetra Pak is placed on the compounded unwinding rack, and after four times of lamination, the aluminum foil (aluminum foil can be protected against ultraviolet light to ensure the quality of the contents) is adhered and finally collected. The roll is wound into a roll. Tetra Pak's four-layer plastic is made from outer layer, composite layer, inner layer 1 and inner layer 2 with different thicknesses of polyethylene or modified polyethylene resin and is extruded through four extruders and is about 1300mm wide. The film is bonded to paper and aluminum foil. It is then finished by professional manufacturers through cutting and indentation, and finally transported to the packaging factory in a roll shape.

2 Sterilization of juice aseptic packaging

Juices are made from different fruits and their ingredients and properties vary. The main factors related to the packaging are the acidity of the juice, enzymes, vitamin C, color and aroma, and the deterioration of juice is mainly caused by yeast and mold.

The sterilization process controls the microbial content of the product through high temperatures. The commonly used sterilization methods are HTST and UHT sterilization. The choice should be based on the characteristics of the product. Improper handling can result in incomplete destruction of microorganisms or product color, loss of fragrance, and destroy the nutrients.

At the same time, the environment of the operation workshop must be sterilized before and after packaging, and the pressure in the environment of the workshop should be kept slightly higher than the outside atmospheric pressure to prevent outside air from entering the workshop and reduce the invasion of bacteria and dirt.

The ground, walls, consoles, tools, etc. of the production workshop should also be regularly sterilized. At the same time, the circulation of the material circulation pipes and reservoirs should be carried out in a timely manner.

3 juice aseptic packaging process

Juice aseptic packaging process mainly includes the following processes.

1) Filling

Filling is the most important process in the entire packaging process. It consists of a series of processes and is completed on a filling machine. The working process of the aseptic filling machine.

1 paper roll feeding. Using a special trolley, the paper roll is pushed to the machine, and an automatic paper feeder can be used. When the old paper roll is used up quickly, the new and old paper rolls are connected without stopping the machine. The roll 1 is fed by a motor-driven feed roller 3, and the idler 2 can start or stop the feed roller 3. The paper is conveyed to line 4 to print the production date and the cross crease is pressed.

2 seals. In order to prevent leakage of the back of the aseptic carton after heat sealing, the heat-seal portion is further sealed with tape. The specific method is to use a seal applicator to attach one half of a PP tape with a width of 8mm to the edge on one side of the wrapper, and the other half to bond with the other side of the wrapper in a longitudinal seal to obtain a tight and strong seal.

3 sterilization. The packaging paper is impregnated with H2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide) tank 6 prior to filling for sterilization. The concentration of H2O2 is generally 25%~30%: increasing the sterilization temperature can accelerate the bactericidal effect of primary ecooxygen, and 80°C is appropriate.

4 Dry. A pair of rollers 7 are used to extrude hydrogen peroxide on the wrapper. At the same time, the air curtain 8 is used to inject high-temperature sterile air at 140° C. to 150° C. to blow dry H2O2 remaining on the surface of the packaging paper after being extruded, so as to be decomposed into harmless water vapor and oxygen. At this time, the high-temperature air It can also enhance the sterilization efficiency of the new ecological oxygen and kill a part of the remaining bacteria.

Of the four major printing methods, lithographic printing is the most commonly used, while the lithographic version mainly uses the PS version.

5 heat sealing and filling. The packaging paper is formed into a tubular shape by four guide rollers and a former. At this time, the edges of the two sides of the packaging paper are overlapped by about 8 mm. The PE film outside the packaging paper is continuously heat-sealed at the overlapping place by the vertical sealing device 10, and is pre-applied. The PP tape at the inner edge is firmly bonded. At the same time, the juice that has been sterilized and sent from the aseptic pipeline is fed into the cylinder through the filling tube 9. In order to achieve the aseptic packaging requirements, the end of the filling tube is always submerged in the juice.

6 constant volume, pressure edge, horizontal seal. The device consists of two pairs of jaws that move up and down in succession. When the pair of jaws are snapped together, 250 ml of juice is sealed in the cavity of the press-formed paper cylinder and the bottom is horizontally sealed. The two layers of the inner surface of the wrapper are sealed horizontally. The PE film is heat-sealed and the heat-seal width is about 16 mm. In this width, the cutting knife is used to cut the upper and lower parts. The upper half is the bottom seal of the previous carton and the other half is the top seal of the rear carton. When the jaws are moved to the lowest position in synchronization with the cylinder, the other pair of jaws is opened and the above work is repeated on the top surfaces of the pair of jaws. The bottom surface of the two jaws is spaced approximately 0.7 mm from the top surface. This cycle, so that the vertical seal into a cylinder filling, constant volume, rib forming - horizontal seal cut in the case of continuous operation of the paper tube has been under continuous circulation, greatly improving the productivity, per minute packaging 100 boxes ~ 120 boxes.

7-fold angle. The side angles of the top and bottom of the small package are respectively folded to the side and the bottom in the brick folder 14, and are sprayed on the bottom and the side at four places with high temperature steam at 160° C. so that both sides of the top surface are affixed to the side. The bottom side of both sides of the corner and the bottom paste. With the bottom of the carton in the folder facing upwards, when discharged from the folder onto the conveyor belt 15, the top of the finished product faces up.

2) Juice Aseptic Package Inspection

Strict inspection measures are also important guarantees for the smooth implementation of the aseptic cold filling process. The operating requirements for aseptic filling are extremely strict and must be carried out in accordance with the operating procedures. During the filling process, the laboratory personnel must perform an on-line inspection of the aseptic package of juice. After the filling machine has just been adjusted, check the two boxes every 10 minutes before placing the tubes to check the quality of molding and sealing and the filling capacity. After the operation is normal, check the two boxes every 30 minutes. The inspection contents are the same.

3) Sticking straw

The straw is designed for the convenience of consumers. It is manufactured by a professional factory. It is made of polyethylene plastic and has a length of 115mm and a diameter of 4mm. It is pre-assembled in a two-layer polyethylene plastic film suitable for its length and is sealed side by side. Ready for use. The suction tube is attached to the diagonal line on the back of the aseptic packaging carton, and is completed by a dedicated tube applicator.

4) Packing

Corrugated paper trays are made of E-type corrugated paperboard. The dimensions of the corrugated paperboard are 395mm193mm110mm according to the arrangement of the carton. The products are arranged on the tray machine first, and a total of 39=27 aseptic cartons are installed. The shrink pack is then formed on the shrink packaging machine using a PVC film to form a packaging unit for the tray and the product.

5) Outer packaging

On the stacker, stack the corrugated paper pallets into eight layers on the intermodal flat pallets, staggered between the layers, so that one tray can hold 128=96 packages and 2592 aseptic packaging boxes. Finally, a linear low-density polyethylene stretched film with a width of 500 mm is wound on a spiral wound packaging machine and wound spirally from top to bottom. The whole web can also be wrapped on a rotary stretch-wrapping machine with a stretch film having a width of 1 m. package.
