Crack hooves disease is one of the main hooves diseases in pigs. It is characterized by hoof cracks, local pain, and lack of movement in the lying area. The incidence rate is about 5%. The onset time of the disease is mainly concentrated from October to January of the next year, with the most serious in December. Most of the diseased pigs are reserved boars and sows that are to be allocated or initially allocated.

Causes

First, from autumn to early winter, the air changes from warm to cold. In order to adapt to changes in the environment, the capillary contraction of the pig's body surface leads to a decrease in the secretion of lipids. The pig's hoof shell is thin, coupled with rough ground and other collisional friction, thus causing cracks in the hoof shell. Second, some pig houses laid with bricks and cement, due to the hard and rough surface, in the dry and cold weather conditions, the pigs walk on the long-term, often cause cracking disease.

The main symptoms

The pig mainly suffers from clefthoofs, accompanied by local pain, inability to rise and lie, and secondary muscle rheumatism due to less movement in the lying area; the longer the onset, the more the skin may be worn and the local abscess may be easily caused. If it affects the mating or normal activities during pregnancy, it may be eliminated or died due to gradual weight loss.

Differential diagnosis

The main concern is the differential diagnosis of foot and mouth disease in pigs. Foot-and-mouth disease is characterized by localized blisters and erosions, accompanied by systemic symptoms such as elevated body temperature, and fissile hoof disease is mainly cleft-hoofed. Therefore, we must strictly distinguish between the two diseases to prevent misdiagnosis and mistreatment.

Control methods

First, after the fall of the cooler months, inspections of piggery and the facilities in the houses should be conducted. The laying of hay or sand in the pig house can protect the hooves and keep it cool and prevent muscle rheumatism. Second, the pig's hoof shell surface is often inspected. If it is too dry, vegetable oil or vaseline should be applied every 3 to 5 days to prevent chapped cracks. 3. In the early winter, add 200-250 mg of vitamin H per 1,000 kg of feed to prevent hoof cracking. In case of onset, the amount of addition increased by 1 to 1.5 times. As of the end of January of the following year, reduce or stop adding as the case may be. Fourth, the dry hoof shell, apply cod liver oil 1 or 2 times a day to moisten the hoof shell and promote healing. At the same time, 0.5 kg of carrots were fed to the affected pigs each day, and 1% of fat was added to the compound feeds, which had a certain role in adjuvant therapy.

CAD CAM Dental Milling Machine

CAD/CAM dental systems refers to the software used to both design and mill dental prosthetics. CAD (Computer Aided Design) includes digitally scanning, while CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) is the process of sending final models to the output device and manufacturing them through milling or 3D printing. DGSHAPE devices and software are specifically engineered to perfectly fit into this digital workflow.
