Principle of hot filling

The composition of hot-filled PET bottles differs greatly from the composition of ordinary or carbonated beverage materials, and the filling method and filling process are also different. Therefore, the structure of the hot filling machine is quite different from that of the ordinary filling machine in terms of filling cylinders, filling valves and management systems.

1. Because the ingredients of hot filling materials are different, such as juice, tea, coffee milk and functional health drinks, some have higher sugar content, and some even contain pectin, theophylline, and some medium viscosity. Large, some are easy to foam when filling.

In order to ensure a long shelf life and stable quality of the beverage, high temperature filling is required, and the temperature is usually around 88 °C.

At the same time, the internal structure of the filling cylinder is required to be smooth, easy to clean, no CIP cleaning dead angle, the parts and materials in contact with the material are 0Cr19Ni9 high quality stainless steel, the inner and outer surfaces are smooth, and the required roughness Ra≤0.8.

2. The hot filling machine adopts the filling method of gravity filling and negative pressure reflow.

After UHT ultra-high temperature sterilization, the material is sent to the upper cylinder of the filling machine through the conveying pump to maintain a certain head drop of the PET bottle to be filled. The material is injected into the PET bottle through the pipeline above the filling valve and the filling valve. . At the same time, there is an exhaust fan in the workbench, and the suction port is connected with the buffer tank. When the filling is started, the exhaust fan is started. The air in the PET bottle is quickly sucked away and formed by the buffer tank, the lower tank and the return pipe of the filling valve. The negative pressure accelerates the filling speed and absorbs the foam at the high liquid level in the bottle and quickly replenishes the material to form a high liquid level or full bottle filling of the PET bottle.

3. Requirements for high liquid level in PET bottles after filling

Hot filling requires a higher liquid level or full bottle after filling the PET bottle to reduce the oxygen content in the air remaining in the gap of the bottle to affect the quality of the beverage. At the same time, the hot air of the bottle mouth material can also replace the air, which is beneficial to the subsequent process of the inverted bottle to sterilize the bottle mouth and the inner side of the bottle cap to further ensure the quality of the beverage.
